Rick Perry's assertive manner during the debate

Summary
Texas Governor, Rick Perry is known to run his campaign in a way that will keep the focus off of him and on his opponents, which has made him a successful competitor in other elections. Governor Perry stuck to his routine during the first Republican debate. While many of the critical questions directed towards Governor Perry, were ones aiming towards his social security ideas, he was swift to aim the pressure on the other candidates. The debate's focal point remained mostly on Rick Perry and former Massachusetts Governor, Mitt Romney. Polls now reveal that Governor Perry and Governor Romney are the leading candidates. The other candidates made attempts to shift the center of the issue, but it will take more effort for them to come out on top throughout the electoral season. Governor Perry comes out on top by making it clear to the other candidates, as well as the United State's citizens, that he is a true leader that can handle the pressure.
